The Gen. William Lee Davidson Chapter was chartered most recently in 2012. William Lee Davidson was an officer in the North Carolina militia and Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was killed on February 1, 1781, at the Battle of Cowan's Ford. The town and college of Davidson are named after him.
Our chapter serves and supports members and Revolutionary War events around greater Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties. We attend Revolutionary War grave marking ceremonies and major battle anniversaries throughout this part of historic North Carolina.
The General Wm. Lee Davidson Patriotic Scholarship Award is a one-time scholarship award of $500 or more that may be used only at Central Piedmont and will be applied toward tuition and required fees first and may be used at the college bookstore for required textbooks if tuition/fees are already paid for or will be paid from other financial aid sources.
